An Anglophone bookshop cum literary café makes references to the traditions of café culture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This special place was set up in 2001 as a project of Karen Underhill, David Miller, and Matthew Roy: three Americans charmed with Kraków. Their place has become the stage of plenty of international literary meetings and events, exhibitions, and political debates.

The bookshop invites you to choose from among 20,000+ new and second-hand books in English, available also online. It devotes special attention to expanding its collection of Polish and Jewish literature (in translation), Central and Eastern European and Asian studies, feminist literature, and women’s studies as well as books from other fields of the humanities. A visit to the café is an opportunity to taste home-made American cakes and browse through a large selection of magazines in English available on the spot.

Massolit has also a branch (or sister shop) in Budapest.
