THOU SHALT NOT KILL

On 4 March, Kino Pod Baranami hosts a special screening with the participation of Agnieszka Holland. Her latest film Spoor tells the story of the retired engineer Janina Duszejko who has been living close to nature in the Sudeten Mountains for many years. One winter night she finds the body of her neighbour – a poacher. The only trails visible in the snow near his house are those left by deer. Soon after, local nobles also start dying. They are all joined by a common passion for hunting. Seeing the inability of the police force to deal with the situation, the protagonist starts her own unconventional investigation. Is it possible for the hunters to have become the prey? The film is based on the novel Drive Your Plough Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk, who also co-wrote the screenplay.
