Queen Vistula

The history of our nation has been shaped along her very banks: between 10 and 30 June, come along to events aiming to make Cracovians more familiar with their river. The campaign Come to the Vistula starts by decorating the Grunwaldzki and Dębnicki bridges with ribbons. And since it’s hardly any distance from Kraków to the sea (!), we’ll build environmentally friendly boats on 11 June. On 17 June, Kraków’s barges resound with ensembles performing shanties and sailing songs. And did you know that the Vistula flowed along today’s Dietla Street until as late as the 19th century? Join us for a walk following the former riverbed on 18 June. The Youth Centre at Krupnicza Street presents the post-competition photo exhibition dedicated to the Vistula and her bridges (until 30 June). Sail away with us! (Artur Jackowski, "Karnet" monthly)
