Any plans for the last night of the year? The Beethoven Academy Orchestra suggests you spend it in stellar company!
During the Grand New Year’s Eve Gala at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre (31 December, 9pm) we will hear stars of stages such as the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden and Wiener Staatsoper: Małgorzata Walewska, Ewa Vesin, Krystian Krzeszowiak and Natalia Rubiś-Krzeszowiak. Accompanied by the 80-strong Beethoven Academy Orchestra under the baton of Yannis Pouspourikas, the soloists present a selection of the finest arias by Verdi, Puccini and Mascagni. The operatic repertoire is complemented by Viennese waltzes and overtures and symphonic surprises. Excellent music, a glass of champagne, evening gowns and stunning views over the Old City from the ICE Kraków foyer – the only night of its kind!
The concert is repeated on 1 January (7pm) – the Beethoven Academy Orchestra ensures that we start the New Year with as much beautiful music as we end the Old! (Barbara Skowrońska)
