Playing Along

The event has been discovering the boldest, most extreme and radically avant-garde projects of ambitious electroacoustic music for a quarter of a century. The 25th Audio Art Festival is held between 17 and 26 November. Like fun and games? You’ll love Marta Nawrot’s music installation Playground, which creates music using handmade toys and tiny synthesisers. If you remember amusement arcades, don’t miss the performance by Pinball Dub Sound System. It’s probably the only music group in the world creating live music using nothing but game machines. All this just during the opening night!

The ensemble Kwartludium & Anna Karpowicz, specialising in performing the very latest music, present works by Tadeusz Wielecki and the Swedish composers Joakim Sandren and Miki Pelo. The concert Context: Popular! presents Spółdzielnia Muzyczna exploring topics including mass media, pop culture, sensuality, sex and garage music. Guests from far-flung corners of the world, including Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Calgary, encourage us to perceive sounds in brand new ways. Concerts, installations, audiovisual performances, lectures and workshops (a total of over 30 events!) will be held at Bunkier Sztuki, Academy of Music, Cricoteka and Żarówka Café.
