On 19 May, the Jordan Park throws open its gates to Cracovian families. To make it easier to navigate the attractions on offer, the Kraków Family Festival is divided into thematic zones. Fans of dancing in the open air will be seduced by outdoor dance in the art zone; the health-conscious should investigate the activities prepared by Kraków’s public and private healthcare centres, while the security zone hosts a communication village. If you’re interested in issues affecting the environment, you can join in a range of workshops on the natural world, healthy eating, recycling and combatting smog. There will also be plenty of sports and recreation including horse riding, car maintenance workshops, fitness events and gymnastics and acrobatics demonstrations. The family zone hosts outdoor games, concerts, performances, culinary workshops and literary puzzles.

For whom: for children, for seniors, for families
Other: open air event, free admission, acceptable for people with disabilities

Jordan Park

al. 3 Maja / ul. H. Reymonta

Situated on the other side of the street from Kraków’s Błonia Common, the park was modelled on English landscape gardens, and it contains an irregular network of paths, flowerbeds, huge lawns, and a small pond.

It’s a very popular place for pottering about and whiling away an hour or two. Situated on its premises are large areas for children to let off steam, including playgrounds, cycle paths, and a skating ramp. You can also rent a boat, a bike or an electric car.

The patron of the park set up in 1889 is Dr Henryk Jordan, a promoter of sport among young people.
