Dance Night 2019
Sunday, June 16, 2019, 2:00 PM - Monday, June 17, 2019
“To dance is to live!” as Zorba the Greek was wont to say. On Dance Night (16 June), Kraków comes together to make his words come true.
Last year’s inaugural event was enthusiastically received by the public, and it’s no wonder – even wallflowers couldn’t help but tap their feet to the captivating dance presentations held in city squares, theatres, cultural centres and even on a barge. And things will be no different this year: the programme includes over a hundred events ranging from professional and amateur spectacles to myriad dance workshops.
Children’s disco, dance displays, body painting, acrobatics and juggling featuring the star of the evening Los Fuegos – the Podgórski Market Square has something for everyone. The Białoprądnicki Manor hosts a dance pageant, teaches the basics of samba and presents the dazzling spectacle Kraków vs. the Rest of the World combining traditional Cracovian dances with more exotic moves. The Small Market Square is taken over by children’s and young people’s ensembles, while the square in front of the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre presents demonstrations of ballroom, regional, hip-hop and Irish dance.
Let’s immerse ourselves in dance on this unique night of the year!
