Henry Purcell wrote Dido & Aeneas in 1680s, but this tragic meditation on destiny, love, and death resonates just as powerfully today. The question about the drama of the lovers: could it have been avoided?, resonates throughout the centuries. Are our plans and dreams annihilated by the external circumstances or did we just shatter them ourselves? For who are the Witches in Dido & Aeneas if not the projection of our fears, weaknesses and anxieties?

The Baroque opera by Henry Purcell, which conveys a still pressing matter, will be performed in August by Capella Cracoviensis.
