Founded in Salzburg – the city of Mozart’s birth – Orchester 1756 comes to Poland to hold a tournée, which includes Kraków’s Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University. The concert will transfer us to Venetian musical theatres from the times of Vivaldi and to the Viennese Konzerthäuser once frequented by Mozart and Haydn. The original instruments, the intensive work with stylistics and rhetoric of the 18th century and a balanced combination of instruments, oriented towards the historic rules – that’s how the ensemble makes the music sound authentic.

The Orchester 1756 was founded in Salzburg in 2006 by conductor and harpsichordist Konstantin Hiller. Since its beginning, it has been focus solely on historically informed performances on period instruments – complying with style and music rhetoric typical for Baroque and Classicism. Its repertoire ranges from Biber to Mozart, with a special appreciation for the works of the latter – the Salzburg-born genius of the Classical era. Since 2014, an excellent Greek violinist Dimitris Karakantas has been its concertmaster and soloist.
