Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.
One for my master and one for the dame,
One for the little boy who lives down the lane.
(nursery rhyme)

According to tradition, today’s Palace Under the Rams was once the site of an inn which kept rams sold to Cracovians. It was those rams which are now featured on the emblem and which give their name to the building. An earlier name of the tenement building was “Whence Rams” and the sign featured two rams joined by a single head. Today, three rams’ heads are displayed above the main entrance.*

* The palace is home to the studio cinema, while the cellars host performances by the acclaimed Piwnica Pod Baranami cabaret.
