24th International Book Fair in Krakow
Thursday, October 14, 2021 - Sunday, October 17, 2021
As every year, the International Book Fair in Krakow will be held in October, but this time it will start a bit earlier than in previous years. Familiarize yourself with the new date as well as the otherworldly graphics of the event!
As Mahatma Ghandi said: The future depends on what we do in the present. Therefore, write down the date 14-17 October in your schedules as soon as possible and do not forget about one of the most important reading events in the Poland. The Fair team is already preparing the next edition, because on how it will be prepared today depends the future result of fantastically organized book festival in the fall! And what can we expect this year?
This year's concept of the Fair will reveal a new layou. Its dual nature reflects the reality in which everyone has recently found themselves. 2020 required functioning in two dimensions at the same time - real and virtual. Living in constant contact with technology is a vision presented by Stanisław Lem - patron of 2021. His leadership in this new, hybrid world is therefore the right choice.
The daily journey between the media is somehow reminiscent of the one interpreted by translators in their professional practice. Thanks to their efficient movement in foreign languages, readers can appreciate the talent of authors from all over the world. Translating meanings and transforming unfamiliar words into familiar objects are skills that they will share with those willing to participate during this year's fair.
By transferring meanings from one language to another, translators make a change. The fact of becoming something (or someone) different, replacing old things with new ones, is actually a special sign of our times. Changes and modifications have become ubiquitous in every field, which is why the Organizer of the International Book Fair in Krakow decided to open up to changes and is willing to talk about them, learn. The two-dimensionality of the new layout promises that the 24th International Book Fair in Krakow will become a coherent event that will combine the traditional formula of a fair in a hall with online activities.
The world is changing and we are changing with it!
