Summer Jazz Festival Kraków and Unsound, Audio Art and EtnoKraków/Crossroads, Cracovia Danza and Groteska Theatre, Juliusz Słowacki Theatre and Piwnica Pod Baranami, Kids in Kraków and Orfeo & Majnun… What links these events, institutions and brands? They’re all coming to Kraków Culture Summer!

Grzegorz Słącz, "Kraków Culture" quarterly

Difficult times require bold decisions ...

and it’s certainly a bold move to bring together myriad different events under a single banner and present them in Jordana Park! On the last four weekends of the summer holidays, the park turns into Kraków’s cultural heart, hosting over a hundred meetings, workshops, courses, spectacles, projections, concerts... The beautiful park is the perfect setting for family days out – as shown by the Kraków Picnic, bringing good summer vibes to the city in recent years.

Marquee, large stage, small stage, audience zone and separate food zone

That’s Kraków Culture Summer in a nutshell! The park will host the largest concerts of this year’s Wianki music festival, spectacular performances of the Film Music Festival (FMF Gala in Three Seasons, Agi Bagi, concert by the FMF Youth Orchestra), concerts and workshops held as part of EtnoKraków/Crossroads, finale of the social enterprise Orfeo & Majnun (interrupted by the pandemic), and dozens of meetings and workshops prepared by non-governmental organisations involved with the project. The stage resounds with jazz straight from New Orleans, folk music and a mini singer-songwriter festival. Love dance? Don’t miss performances by the Cracovia Danza Ballet, or join the silent disco!

“We want to use the new scenery of green Kraków to create a fantastic atmosphere focusing on experiencing culture live in a friendly space, a picnic atmosphere and of course in safety. We want to encourage Cracovians to discover new places and artistic ideas in August, and hope that weekend visitors’ experience of Kraków’s culture will give them great memories for years to come”, says Robert Piaskowski, Plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Kraków for Culture and initiator of the new Kraków Culture municipal policy.

Jordan Park

al. 3 Maja / ul. Reymana / ul. Reymonta

Situated on the other side of the street from Kraków’s Błonia Common, the park was modelled on English landscape gardens, and it contains an irregular network of paths, flowerbeds, huge lawns, and a small pond.

It’s a very popular place for pottering about and whiling away an hour or two. Situated on its premises are large areas for children to let off steam, including playgrounds, cycle paths, and a skating ramp. You can also rent a boat, a bike or an electric car.

The patron of the park set up in 1889 is Dr Henryk Jordan, a promoter of sport among young people.
