The BNP Paribas Green Film Festival is a celebration of cinema and people passionate about the fate of our planet.

The event also features environmental workshops, educational meetings, lectures and artistic activities intertwining culture with green values. The festival was founded in 2018 by Piotr Biedroń and Grzegorz Dukielski from the Green Festival Foundation.

Pop into the festival village at the foot of Wawel Hill between 14 and 21 August, grab a cool drink, stretch out on a lounger and watch the best environmentally-themed films of the year! The documentaries explore themes such as climate change and our urgent mission to save our planet, problems of exponential growth, shortages of clean drinking water, the future of the food industry, depletion of natural resources, and what the future has in store for homo destructus. Best films of the year will be awarded prizes by a jury comprising Tomasz Raczek, Ewa Ewart and Paweł Deląg.

As well as an extensive selection of films, there will be plenty of accompanying events. Fans of video games can join LARP Fortitude, the latest instalment of the LARP For Climate initiative exploring global warming and climate policies. Participants take on roles of diplomats, experience the emotions of a climate summit and make decisions affecting the future of our planet. The festival village will also host a workshop repairing Patagonia-brand clothes, as well as hosting debates and discussions on subjects such as sustainable cinematography.

To reduce the carbon footprint and reduce paper waste, the organisers are encouraging participants to download the app including the full programme and descriptions of individual films www.greenfestival.pl/aplikacje/.
