Sinfonietta Cracovia: Folk Variations
Tuesday, October 18, 2022, 8:00 PM
A world premiere of a brand new composition by Jan Stokłosa, perhaps best known from his latest album Contemporary Songs recorded with Miuosh and the Śląsk folk song and dance ensemble. The work commissioned by Sinfonietta Cracovia includes variations on folk themes – regional motifs from different parts of Poland reimagined in a contemporary, string form. The programme will feature soloists from the pop world, including Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka on bagpipes.
The Sinfonietta Cracovia concert has been co-organised by the EtnoKraków/Crossroads festival and serves as the epilogue of this year festival.
