September Welcomes

30 August 2019

It’s always difficult to say goodbye to summer with its long, hot days and outdoor events, and on 1 September we head to Krakowski Park for this year’s last urban picnic. It will stir some bittersweet feelings, but we must also look ahead! So, filled with fresh energy, let’s extend a warm welcome to Michael Bublé and Lindsey Stirling – two great (if very different!) music stars performing again at Tauron Arena Kraków. And there are plenty of brand-new exhibitions: Cricoteka explores the great achievements of Tadeusz Kantor’s theatre (and photos by Maurizio Buscarino), while the Szołayski House showcases the youthful energy of the First Krakow Group with a presentation prepared by the National Museum. The traditional Dachshund Parade, taking to Kraków’s street for the 25th time, is bound to raise a jolly woof from the hounds and a smile from the human spectators. As usual, there are plenty of smaller concerts and festivals resounding with music of all genres and painting a dazzling picture of the city’s cultural life. And let’s not forget about theatres gradually starting their autumn repertoire.

And of course in late September we welcome back the Sacrum Profanum festival – often filled with surprises, always fascinating and refreshing, and once again taking us into a universum of new sounds. The world is waiting to be discovered: sometimes beyond our nearest border, right behind the corner, or – following the motto of this year’s events – with our closest neighbours.

Let’s get discovering!
