Dragon Statue
Bulwar Czerwieński
Once upon a time, the cunning cobbler Skuba defeated the dragon who’d been terrorising Kraków. He tricked the beast by feeding him a sheep stuffed with sulphur – after gobbling it up, the dragon was so thirsty he drank and drank from the Vistula until he burst! The six-metre tall Wawel Dragon statue, made by Bronisław Chromy, was erected over 40 years ago. Fed with natural gas, the bronze dragon breathes real fire and scares off any bold would-be invaders of his den.
