Kraków’s music lovers have waited for this concert for a long time: the ICE Classic cycle makes a welcome return to the Krzysztof Penderecki Auditorium Hall at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre with a recital by Bruce Liu – the great virtuoso makes his first visit to Kraków! The winner of the 18th Chopin Competition says he became a professional pianist quite by accident. But don’t be fooled: the Chinese-Canadian artist’s “playing of breathtaking beauty” captivated the BBC Music Magazine, while Diapason describes him as having an “elf-like virtuosity”. In November he launched his first studio album, featuring a panorama of French music from Rameau to Ravel. As well as works by these two composers, we will hear Liszt’s Réminiscences de Don Juan and Chopin’s Variations on “Là ci darem la mano” which dazzled the audience of the Chopin Competition in Warsaw.
