Whirlwind of Emotions

“From paranoia and obsession to catharsis and joy, and hitting myriad points between”… While these words could be used to describe many of Depeche Mode’s albums, they appeared in the press release announcing their latest album Memento Mori. Work on the record was initiated during the early days of the pandemic by none other than Richard Butler. The frontman of the Psychedelic Furs sent Martin Gore lyrics for several songs, and the correspondence resulted in four of the tracks being included on the album. Work accelerated after the sudden passing of Depeche Mode’s keyboardist Andy Fletcher in May 2022. In July, Gore and Dave Gahan entered the recording studio, and in spring this year they launched a concert tour. Also featuring veteran collaborators Christian Eigner and Peter Gordeno, the band plays two gigs in Poland: at the National Stadium in Warsaw, and at Tauron Arena Kraków.
