Simply Songs

It’s not easy to make a common noun “your own”, but he has managed twice. When music fans hear the words “Sting” and “The Police”, they instantly know! In recent years, the British singer, who wouldn’t react if you were to call him by his given name Gordon, toured with fellow songwriter Paul Simon and later the rapper Shaggy. After releasing his album My Songs in 2019, he started a world tour under the same title – and it’s been so popular, it’s still going! Sting is widely loved in Poland: in July he returns to Tauron Arena Kraków to present a selection of songs from his wide repertoire, from favourites by The Police (Roxanne, Message in a Bottle, Demolition Man, Every Breath You Take) to some his own greatest hits (Englishman in New York, Fields of Gold, Shape of My Heart). He is supported by Joe Sumner, frontman of Fiction Plane and – coincidentally – Sting’s son. (Bartosz Suchecki, ”Kraków Culture” magazine)
