Immotus Verto. The only carousel of its kind in the world
Saturday, May 27, 2023 - Monday, June 12, 2023
Immotus Verto is an unusual functional sculpture created by French artist Christian Cébé. This is because the carousel – beyond its obvious entertainment function – carries a deeper message.
It was created as a pro-environmental work and is not powered by electricity, and is made to move by the muscle power of those who use it. Moreover, it was created with the thought of Ukrainian children who were forced to leave their country. Playing on the carousel is meant to distract them from their traumatic experiences and bring some joy and laughter into their lives. As well as in the lives of anyone who wishes to use it!
The carousel will be available in the open air in front of the Nowohucki Cultural Center from May 27 to June 12. Monday through Friday we welcome you from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Longer opening hours are also planned for June 1 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and June 3 (11 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Using the carousel is free of charge.
