ABOUT PROGRAM

The theme of the 12th edition of the Patchlab Digital Art Festival is SPACE/S. The programme focuses on space and its synergy with technology in a broad context. It explores the universe as a whole, as well as human thought and spirit, and the sphere we inhabit every day: the relationship between humankind and the environment.

The exhibition SPACE/S in the creative district of Wesoła presents Spheres VR produced by Darren Aronofsky exploring the sounds of the cosmos, François Vautier’s Odyssey 1.4.9 inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s cult film, and the virtual story To the Moon by the New York avant-garde artist Laurie Anderson. Ayahuasca. Kosmik Journey by Jan Kounen is an interactive experience recalling the meditative and transformative ritual of eating this psychedelic plant in the Shipibo tradition of Peru.

Adelin Schweitzer takes us into a spiritual sphere with his virtual shamanic project #Alphaloop reaching for extended reality (XR). Participants are taken on a journey changing their perception of the relationship between nature and technology by technomancer guides.

The ICE Kraków Congress Centre presents an extraordinary project by studio fuse* from Milan. The spectacle Dökk, combining dance and acrobatics with 3D spatial projections, tells an innovative story about humankind’s place in the universe.

The festival culminates with a special audiovisual concert in the dome of the Silesian Planetarium: the British artist Emika, known for her collaborations with Massive Attack and the cult label Ninja Tune, immerses us in a symphony of a 360o dark, hypnotic universe.

Festival events are also held at Cricoteka, the Potocki Palace and Hevre+1.
