Stars with Sinfonietta: Soyoung Yoon
Saturday, February 8, 2025, 6:00 PM
Between the baroque nature landscape and the 20th-century photograph of a crowded metropolis, between harmony and contrast, between the soloist and the ensemble – between Soyoung Yoon and Sinfonietta Cracovia! After eight years, the Krakow orchestra will again host the brilliant Korean violinist – the winner of the Henryk Wieniawski Competition in 2011 and laureate of many other top-level violinist competitions. This outstanding performance will feature two concert cycles: Antonio Vivaldi's famous virtuoso work Four Seasons, with its sounds of thunder, wind and birdsong, and Astor Piazzolla's Las cuatro estaciones porteñas –a composition inspired by the red-haired priest’s work 250 years later, where the language of the tango is used to convey a vision of bustling Buenos Aires in all natural settings. This is something you can listen to all year round – non-stop and regardless of the weather!

Besides their weekly symphony concerts, the Kraków Philharmonic also organises master recitals and educational concerts for children and young people.
The Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic Hall in Kraków was the first philharmonic to open in Poland after the Second World War. Besides the weekly symphony concerts, it organises master recitals and educational concerts for children and young people, while the summer meetings with music assume the form of chamber concerts of slightly lighter character. A hallmark of the Kraków Philharmonic repertoire is its programme of oratorios, which the Philharmonic can present thanks to its extensive and varied lineup: the orchestra, mixed choir, and boys choir. The Kraków Philharmonic has become recognised for its promotion of the works of Karol Szymanowski in Poland and abroad.
The Philharmonic Hall frequently hosts concerts by special guests, for example, at major festivals.
