To celebrate the 150 years of public transport in Krakow, the Museum of Engineering and Technology would like to invite everybody to the Czyżyny Hangar for a show prepared in collaboration with MPK, where attendees will have an opportunity to take a closer look at vintage vehicles. Among the gems from Krakow'’s historic fleet, we will be able to admire the Jelcz 272 MEX - one of only a handful remaining Cucumbers surviving in Poland, and the 1959 San H01B, a unique vehicle that was astonishingly modern for the 1950s. There will be no shortage of city taxis, and the display will be complemented by taxi equipment from the Museum’’s collection, including the vintage Poltax and Poltax 2 taximeters, dating back to the 1960s and 1970s. The visitors will also have the opportunity to see the hearts powering the buses - the impressive Škoda 706 RT and Raba-MAN D2156 engines from the Museum’’s collection. Archive photos, old tickets, vintage ticket validators and ticket vending machines, including the distinctive Krak lever punch and the Krab ticket machine from the early 1970s will take us back in time and give us a glimpse into the history of bus transport in Krakow.
