The latest installment of the Sinfonietta with Stars series will feature Venezuelan-born violin virtuoso Giovanni Guzzo. He will perform with Sinfonietta Cracovia in a dual role – as a soloist and as a conductor.

The programme of the concert is a unique study of the evolution of Classicism, juxtaposing works with common stylistic sources yet differing aesthetic contexts. Gaetano Brunetti's Symphony No. 22 in G minor exemplifies the expressive Classicism of the second half of the 18th century, with clear influences from the Sturm und Drang movement. It contrasts with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony No. 29 in A major, K. 201, considered one of the first masterpieces of Classical symphony.

Alongside works by the 18th-century masters, we will also hear the music of Piotr Moss – a contemporary composer who consciously and creatively engages in a dialogue with the classical heritage. In Variations sur un thème de Mozart, Moss draws on a familiar Mozartian theme, treating it not as a relic of the past, but as a starting point for further transformations.

The centerpiece of the programme will be Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in D minor – an early work that already reflects the composer's emerging individual style. In this piece, Giovanni Guzzo will showcase the unique sound of his violin, built in 1759 by one of the most distinguished members of the Neapolitan violin-making school, Gennaro Gagliano.

Besides their weekly symphony concerts, the Kraków Philharmonic also organises master recitals and educational concerts for children and young people.

The Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic Hall in Kraków was the first philharmonic to open in Poland after the Second World War. Besides the weekly symphony concerts, it organises master recitals and educational concerts for children and young people, while the summer meetings with music assume the form of chamber concerts of slightly lighter character. A hallmark of the Kraków Philharmonic repertoire is its programme of oratorios, which the Philharmonic can present thanks to its extensive and varied lineup: the orchestra, mixed choir, and boys choir. The Kraków Philharmonic has become recognised for its promotion of the works of Karol Szymanowski in Poland and abroad.

The Philharmonic Hall frequently hosts concerts by special guests, for example, at major festivals.
