10th "Duettissimo" International Piano Duo Festival
Thursday, April 9, 2026 - Sunday, April 19, 2026
The "Duettissimo" International Piano Duo Festival was born out of passion for chamber music and the need to promote the rich, yet still underperformed, repertoire for four hands and two (and sometimes even three or four!) pianos. To inaugurate the 10th, anniversary edition of the festival, brothers Hyuk and Hyo Lee will sit at the keyboards. Their playing and command of the Polish language captivated listeners at the last Chopin Competition. This time, they will perform Mozart's Sonata in D major and Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances. The fewtival will also feature artists who have contributed to the its history over the past decade, including Aleami Piano Duo, Emes Piano Duo, Cracow Piano Duo, and K2 Piano Duo. The Novi Piano Duo will perform twice with the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra (with programme dominated by Mozart's music: Concerto in E-flat major for two pianos and the Coronation Mass). The Young Stage will open for the students, the Miroirs Piano Duo will present a Duettissimo italiano, and music school students will perform a four-hand repertoire in Duettissimo for Children. The grand finale will feature rarities: Ravel's Bolero, Milhaud's Concerto No. 1 for two pianos, and Mozart's Concerto in C major for Three Pianos, with Michał Klauza conducting the soloists and the Symphony Orchestra of the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków.
