6th Cracow Dance Festival
Friday, July 31, 2026 - Saturday, August 8, 2026
Performances for adults and children, movement workshops, a silent disco and body-reading are the highlights of the 6th edition of the festival.
This year’s theme - Belonging - invites us to view it as a source of strength, questions and transformation. The main programme features Welcome - a performance by Les Vagues, choreographed by Joachim Maudet, which combines movement and voice. In this performance – somewhat surreal and veering towards absurd poetics – the whirling bodies are accompanied by speech that drifts amongst them and is liberated thanks to ventriloquism. With the recent World Cup still fresh in our minds, we look forward to seeing the German production Non + Ultras about football fan culture, choreographed by Moritz Ostruschnjak, featuring hundreds of scarves set in motion by the dancers. The Polish project Tu mieszkamy (We Live Here) is aimed at children aged 2 to 4 and encompasses workshops and a performance about building a community and finding one’s own safe place on Earth. Apart from that, the
Nowa Huta Cultural Centre Stage wil showcase a dance poem set to Scottish rhythms (And), cante y baile – an encounter with flamenco (Taranto aleatorio) – and an attempt to capture the elusive, inspired by the phenomenon of the wind (Hold on to the wind!).
