On a high note – this is how Sinfonietta Cracovia kicks off its 2026/2027 concert season. After all, is there any other way to describe a concert in which the solo part is performed by the phenomenal Bomsori Kim, featuring the orchestra led by Yaroslav Shemet – a conductor who ‘lives and breathes music’? The artistry of the South Korean violinist, who won the Wieniawski Competition a decade ago and signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, will shine in Ludwig van Beethoven’s Concerto in D major – a work which captivates listeners with the breathtaking grandeur of the solo part and the constant dialogue between the violin and the orchestra. The second part of the concert will feature Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 ‘Italian’ – a musical recollection of his travels to Italy, in which the Ukrainian-Polish conductor and the Kraków ensemble will look for traces of inspirations which the composer drew from the Roman saltarello and the Neapolitan tarantella.

Besides their weekly symphony concerts, the Kraków Philharmonic also organises master recitals and educational concerts for children and young people.

The Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic Hall in Kraków was the first philharmonic to open in Poland after the Second World War. Besides the weekly symphony concerts, it organises master recitals and educational concerts for children and young people, while the summer meetings with music assume the form of chamber concerts of slightly lighter character. A hallmark of the Kraków Philharmonic repertoire is its programme of oratorios, which the Philharmonic can present thanks to its extensive and varied lineup: the orchestra, mixed choir, and boys choir. The Kraków Philharmonic has become recognised for its promotion of the works of Karol Szymanowski in Poland and abroad.

The Philharmonic Hall frequently hosts concerts by special guests, for example, at major festivals.
