Following the May concert by American harpist Brandee Younger, the highlight of the June programme of the anniversary edition of the Young and Old, or Jazz in Kraków International Festival is Atom String Quartet’s concert on the 11 June at 7:30 pm. In addition to jazz, the Warsaw-based ensemble draws inspirations from Polish folklore, music from various regions of the world, as well as contemporary and classical pieces. At Kraków’s Manggha Museum, the musicians will present pieces from their double album Universum, released by Warner Music in January, featuring full-length, multi-movement string quartets by each of the members. In line with the festival's name, from 24-29 June, promising artists will perform on the stages of the Piec Art club and the Krakow Cultural Forum as part of the Young Jazz Scene and the Jazz Debuts series. Accompanying events will be held at the Cracow Groove Lab at Romanowicza 19B. (Bartosz Suchecki, Karnet)
