The wooden onion-shaped domes of the Church of St Paraskeva in Kwiatoń, standing against the background of the Beskid Niski mountains, is a view from which it is hard to peel your eyes away. Used today by the Roman Catholic congregation, the church from the latter half of the 17th century is among the oldest, best preserved, and most beautiful Lemko churches of the Eastern rite in Poland. Its division into three functional parts is emphasised by the architecture of the building: from the very low sanctuary, via a somewhat higher nave, to the lofty tower, whose ground floor is taken by the porch, also known as the esonarthex. Listening to the locals, you can learn that the timber for the construction of the church came from fir trees from a deep valley, so they had to grow tall and slender to reach for sunlight, and they are responsible for the dimensions of the soaring tower. Inside you will be enchanted by polychrome murals from the early 19th century, and a complete (!) iconostasis a hundred years older, separating the nave holding the congregation from the sanctuary, which in the Eastern rites is considered the threshold to paradise.

The church was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2013, and lies on the Małopolska Wooden Architecture Route.
