Be a Tourist in Your City: time to start!

BE A TOURIST IN YOUR CITY – VISIT KRAKOW is picking up speed. Starting today, local entrepreneurs, institutions, activists, artists and other residents of Krakow can submit their ideas and initiatives to the campaign announced last Friday. It is an initiative based on the principles of participation, addressed to all residents of Krakow, whose aim is to support local entrepreneurs.

The campaign announced last Friday by the Mayor of the City of Krakow, Jacek Majchrowski, is mainly addressed to the local community and its aim is to stimulate the local economy and involve the residents of Krakow in the process of restoring to the city the name of the tourist capital of Poland. Of course, during the coronavirus pandemic, Krakow does not forget about the safety of its residents, adjusting the scale of its campaign to the current situation and the possibilities resulting from government regulations. The current state of affairs allows the project to enter the next stage.

Thus, from now on, the residents of Krakow can apply for branding materials promoting the campaign, which they will be able to publish in the companies, institutions and premises they run, as well as on social media. They can also send their ideas and actively participate in the campaign. They will be assisted in this by specially designated area coordinators. Within the structures of the Krakow Festival Office, which is the operator of the social and information campaign, coordinators have been appointed in the following areas: music, film, literature, handicraft, crafts, tourism, local activities (NGOs), gastronomy and business. They will gather information about entities interested in inviting residents of Krakow to take advantage of their offer.


Each e-mail message expressing willingness to receive materials regardless of the area of interest should contain:

  • name of the entity (company, institution, NGO, private person);
  • activity proposal (no more than 700 characters with spaces; a link to video and material may also be attached, as well as photos: maximum 2 files in .jpg format with a size not exceeding 1 MB each – due to the nature of the campaign, we suggest preparing a promotional offer, discounts – only for paid activities);
  • address, first and last name of the contact person;
  • phone number and email address;
  • your consent to the processing of your personal data (please print your consent, sign it and send a scan or photo of your signed form)

From 30 April, dedicated e-mail addresses have been launched, which will be assigned to specific project areas:


Interested parties should select the appropriate e-mail address appropriate to the nature of the proposed activity and send their application.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the expected high interest in the campaign, we kindly ask for your patience; the coordinators of the individual areas will successively familiarise themselves with all the residents’ proposals and provide campaign promotional materials. Each message will be analysed with due care.


Communication activities within the BE A TOURIST IN YOUR CITY – VISIT KRAKOW project will be carried out through dedicated channels in social media: on the Bądź turystą w swoim mieście – Zwiedzaj Kraków Facebook page, and @badzturysta Instagram page. Existing social media channels, such as Krakow Experience, as well as social media of the City of Krakow and brands managed by the Krakow Festival Office will also be used. We encourage local entrepreneurs, institutions, activists, artists and all residents of Krakow to post materials on their social media that will be shared on the indicated profiles.
